Everything you need to know to wear, care, and smile confidently.
BioSmart™ Clear Aligners are designed to deliver great results while fitting seamlessly into your day-to-day routine. Whether you're a student, a working professional, or someone balancing home life, your aligners work quietly and effectively in the background - without disrupting your lifestyle.
This guide helps you make the most of your aligner experience through proper use, care, and smart habits.
Keep your aligners in for 20-22 hours a day. Remove them only when eating, drinking anything other than water, or brushing your teeth.
Follow your orthodontist's instructions. Most patients switch aligners every 1-2 weeks.
If you are using BioSmart™ Shape Memory Aligners (BioSmart™ - SM), follow this two-phase protocol
Days 1-4: Soft memory phase
Days 5-7: Active memory phase
Eating or drinking anything other than plain water while wearing aligners can stain or damage them.
Unlike braces, you don't need to give up any of your favorite foods - just remove the aligners first.
Clean your teeth and rinse your aligners before putting them back in to maintain hygiene and avoid trapped food particles.
Rinse aligners with cool water when you remove them, especially after meals.
Clean aligners using a soft toothbrush and mild, non-abrasive soap or a recommended aligner cleaning solution. Avoid toothpaste.
Do not expose aligners to hot water or sunlight, as it can deform the material.
You might feel gentle pressure or tightness when starting a new set. This means your aligners are working.
With BioSmart™ - SM, the pressure begins light and gradually intensifies to ensure efficient, controlled movement over the wear cycle.
If you experience sharp edges, breakage, or discomfort that doesn't fade, contact your orthodontist or the BioSmart™ support team.
A short adjustment period is normal as your mouth adapts. This typically fades within a few days.
BioSmart™ Aligners are nearly invisible, so you can smile freely in school, social gatherings, interviews, or video calls.
Always store your aligners in their case when not wearing them. Avoid wrapping them in tissue or napkins where they can be lost.
Set phone reminders to help you stay on track—especially in the early days of treatment.
Drinking water throughout the day supports oral hygiene and keeps your mouth feeling fresh with aligners on.
If you have any questions about wearing, cleaning, or switching aligners - or just want to confirm you're doing things right - our support team is here to help.
